W.C. Friday Middle School
W.C. Friday Middle School is home to the Leadership Academy. Through the “Leader in Me” model, students will learn about the importance of responsibility, integrity, vision, and teamwork/collaboration, which are qualities found in an effective leader.
North Gaston High School
Students in the Leadership Academy at North Gaston High School are building leadership skills through the school’s FFA program. The program gives students hands-on experience in agriculture while teaching responsibility, teamwork and career readiness.
Providing care for students at school
Thanks to our partnership with Kintegra Health, we offer a telehealth clinic here at our school. Students, who are experiencing a minor illness or condition, can be seen by a medical provider virtually.

The Gaston County Education Foundation is now accepting applications for the Glenn Sisters Legacy Fund for Educators Grant. The application cycle runs from Jan. 31 through March 8. This grant provides financial assistance for professional growth opportunities, including continuing education, certification or recertification, and leadership development courses. Gaston County Schools is pleased to announce the finalists for its “Of the Year” awards for 2026-2027.
The Gaston County Education Foundation is accepting applications for the Jennie Stultz Grant for Arts Education.
